Hello friends,
I’m so excited for this weekend – I have two awesome recipes I’ll be working on that will be on the blog next week. A decadent dessert (I’ve got Girl Scout cookies on the brain….hint, hint….) and a comfort food classic. Hopefully the season for comfort food is just about behind us. After a brutally cold February, the temps are supposed to get into the 50’s next week. Hallelujah!!

Last week I had dinner at Momotaro, a fantastic new restaurant in Chicago’s Market District and I wanted to share the experience with all 9 of you wonderful readers. If you live in the Chicagoland area, you would be wise to check this place out. Trendy, hot new restaurants are a dime a dozen in Chicago, but this is one of the rare gems whose menu outshines it’s sleek, sexy atmosphere. The modern Japanese menu has both sushi and robata-grilled dishes. We stuck to the grilled options and they were outstanding. From what I saw and what I’ve read, the sushi is equally as good. We had prawns, scallops, smoked bacon and eggs, Wagyu beef tongue, skirt steak and shorts ribs w/ foie gras. For dessert we ate brown sugar ice cream and chocolate sponge cake. I can’t remember the exact descriptions of the desserts and I’m not doing them justice here but they were divine. I was so sad when we took the last bite and I can’t wait to return.
