By day she has the world’s coolest job.  She’s the Culinary Specialist for Weber-Stephen Products. On any given day she can be testing new products for R&D, providing culinary insight to product designers, developing recipes for B2B partnerships, writing for the Weber blog or, her personal favorite, developing and testing recipes for the iconic brand’s cookbooks and website. In addition to her job at Weber, she is also the food & drink co-editor at The Everygirl – a lifestyle website for creative, career-driven women.

After graduating from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!), she worked in a variety of marketing-related jobs. In 2006, she was living in the suburbs of Chicago and found herself at crossroads. She had a good job at a large company but she was bored out of her mind and totally uninspired.  So she made the bold decision to leave her job and enroll in culinary school at Kendall College.

She spent the next several years working as a food stylist for clients like Giada de Laurentiis, Tyler Florence, Buddy Valastro from TLC’s Cake Boss, Jennifer Hudson and The Oprah Winfrey Show.  She was privileged to teach cooking classes for a wonderful organization called Common Threads.

When she’s not busy in the kitchen she can be found at the soccer fields cheering for her daughter or pounding the pavement with her running group in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Ashley began her digital marketing career back in 2004.   She had just gotten married and after a few years climbing the corporate ladder, realized she wasn’t fulfilled by working for someone else.   Feeling the entrepreneurial spirit and knowing that she wanted to eventually be able to work from home, she decided on a whim to build a website.  Since her wedding was fresh in her mind, she opted to create a website that would sell wedding products – favors, gifts and accessories.   Without any formal training in website development, she committed herself to learning as much as possible about html, graphic design, and how to actually get people to come to your website.  Within 6 months she had quit her corporate job, and by the end of her 3rd year in business, her wedding website was grossing over a million dollars annually.

From there, Ashley’s business endeavors and expertise have expanded including projects in software development, WordPress design and theme development, affiliate marketing, lead generation, social media marketing and blogging strategy.   Her passion lies in building beautiful websites that produce high quality content and that grow to become successful and profitable brands…   and coaching other bloggers how to do the same.

When she’s not blogging, growing websites or working with clients, you can find her chasing her Wimbledon dream on the  tennis courts, DIYing some new “project” for her house, or wrangling her 3 little ones out of mischief.
